Policies

Ordering

• By placing an order, you agree to all policies listed below. An order is considered placed only once a deposit is paid; no work will be started before the deposit is received.
• A minimum 50% deposit is required to place orders and the remaining balance when the order gets picked up. This deposit becomes nonrefundable within 7 days of the pickup date.
• Any orders placed or altered under 3 days of the pickup date may incur a rush fee. Not all order or alterations can be accommodated within 3 days notice, but feel free to contact Kaykery to ask about alterations if you have questions or concerns. 
• It is the customer's responsibility to clearly communicate the desired pickup date prior to placing an order. We are not able to assume whether you require your order for the day of your event or the day before without this information. Requests to change the pickup date (to a closer date) within 8 days of the scheduled date are not guaranteed and may not be accommodated.
• Zelle or Venmo are preferable for making payments, but credit cards are accepted if necessary (+3.75% credit card charge fee).
• Kaykery does not offer refunds after the order gets picked up.

Pickup

• This is a home business, and I do not have standard operating hours. The hours listed on this site are standard for making appointments and for contacting Kaykery. Any information found from an outside source, website, or Google are not indicative of actual Kaykery policies.
• The agreed-upon pickup time is a scheduled appointment. Pickup windows are 15 minutes long to ensure timely service for all customers. A late fee of $5 per 15-minute increment will be added if an order is not picked up within the scheduled time.
• Buyer takes full responsibility for the order after pickup. Care instructions are provided with each order about how to transport and store your cake after pickup. Kaykery will stabilize your cake to the best of our ability with cake boards/drums and dowels in multi-tiered cakes, but we are not responsible for your order after it has been picked up. 
•  We want you to be satisfied so if there is an issue with your order upon pickup, let us know! We can probably fix it quickly for you on the spot at no charge.
• If any alterations are made to the cake after it has been picked up, these should not be labeled/advertised as craftsmanship of Kaykery.
• Buttercream melts quickly- it is important to take your order home immediately in an air conditioned vehicle and refrigerate it immediately. 
• Cakes and cupcakes come boxed with transportation and refrigeration instructions attached. 
• Multi-tiered cakes will be doweled for reinforcement and stability purposes, please be aware of this for when you cut and serve the cake. 

Misc

• Kaykery's standard hours are 8am-5pm Mon-Sat, these are also standard contact hours.
• While Kaykery will do its best to work off of images/ideas sent to them, please understand that no design can be identically replicated; however we will do our best to replicate the colors and designs to the best of our abilities.
• Flowers are purchased locally and we will always recommend that if there are specific flowers you want with the order, you should purchase these separately from a florist. We cannot guarantee an exact floral match from a photo.
• Flower stems are wrapped to be food-safe when used on a cake. Be aware of these when removing flowers from the cake. 
• It is a choking hazard for a baby to have sprinkles- please let us know if the cake you are purchasing is for the purpose of being a smash cake, and we will automatically not add sprinkles to the cake unless specified that you'd still like them.
• Images are non-edible and printed on backed cardstock, these are also referred to as 2D toppers and are a default unless there is a specific request for something different.
• Cupcake liners are white. Cake boards/drums are gold or white. These are standards at Kaykery and if you'd like to specifically request a different color, you must notify Kaykery at least 2 weeks prior and we may be able to special-order a specific color for an upcharge.  
• Food coloring may stain, be mindful of this risk.
